This is being drawn from personal experience and observations of the behavior of clan members.
Anyway, some of us are known for our bad habit of abusing the fact that we are referees in custom solos. I'm not talking about spamming and such, although that's annoying it's not that big a deal. What I'm referring to is the degradement of the people playing.
Once again, I'm not talking about the typical "newb" spams, as we don't really have that problem in the first place. I'm talking about things like telling the two players that they're "embarrassing" then leaving the game soon afterwards. Many of us are guilty of this and I won't be pointing any fingers as I myself may be an offender. This makes the players feel like shit. It cuts them down and makes them not want to play. It makes them afraid to custom solo and even to ladder.
There are other examples of this sort of treatment that I won't be listing, but you get the idea.
Simply not using Referees and switching to Observers is not enough. After all, the member can express his opinion after the game just as easily and deal the same damage.
So I propose a new rule. When two members are soloing each other, leave them alone. Keep your opinions to yourself and let them play their game, and only give advice if they ask for it, and make it after the game if referees is on.
Is it really any secret why members are so afraid to custom solo around here?

When I expressed this, I was simply labeled an overreacting whiner - good luck.

I don't solo because melee is boring as hell. "Rawr! I mass my races stereotypical build!" "No, I mass my races stereotypical build!" "We shall meet on the field of deja-vu and decide it like retards!"

I have to say that I've never seen this happen. I mean, in refs chat I've seen/engaged in such things, but I've never really seen much bashing out of it. Well, maybe Zulala-bashing but that doesn't count. Of course there's always the "This is the most boring match ever" and "Someone attack" cries by a certain dessert hoarder, but that's not really an insult, and doesn't offend me at least.
Also, agreed with inane. I don't solo because melee is a snore. You just do a bunch of stuff in the same order for 300 games.

You have basically infinite strategies at your finger tips. And massing Sunken Colonies across the map - until you reach the enemy's base - is always a fun past-time. Or massing 400 fluffy and harmless little Zerglings, then proceeding to 'attack-move' the enemy's base is pretty interesting.

Yes, if you look at all the older posts, you'll find that we're all very different- particularly Pie and I.

The combined influences of 4chan and DotA, I say. It can't be that, since Fx has been serfing 4chan since the moment he came out of his mother.
